My last Girlfriend said it was her or the fish, so i told her to get lost.
"No way would he choose fish over me"

Haha, straight up rejection, I bet that gave her a surprise lol

Through the years I had my aquarium store, I found the sex split in fishkeepers to be pretty even, but there were lines that were generally followed.
There were a lot of single men and women with tanks, a lot of young couples, a lot of married older men, and a lot of single mothers.
A lot of the single men had saltwater tanks, single women were community or saltwater, and the married men and single mothers were mostly saltwater or planted tanks.
Altogether though, a very even split for numbers.
The only real difference was from the people who were VERY into the hobby. Then it tended to swing more to the guys. Especially when it came to reef tanks and automation.

You better watch out William, if you don't want to jet out of here.

MFK does not condone that sort of language and comment.

one of my ex girlfriends attempted to clean one of my tanks at school and she messed a lot of things up the plants the rocks that i placed i was really mad she brought up the whole you care more about your fish than me...I worked hard on that tank lmfao

Funny you say this, since the toadfish and eel are mine, and the angelfish are my husband's. I had to beg and plead for him to let me keep them

That rule only applies to female who don't like fishys :headbang2. You are obviously a fish addict like all of us since you are here :headbang2

My GF could never understand how I could sit and watch my fish for hours at a time. But she mainly had a problem with the space. So when it came time to move, instead of getting a bigger apartment, we just rented a duplex together. we still live together, but each have our own place. im in heaven lol. but were moving to a new bigger house this summer. im told i can pick two rooms for fish :]

Oh never get mad.... If she shows any interest nuture it. If she messes something up its okay. Figure out what she was willing to mess with and slowly start introducing it to her more and more. Then you have a skilled partner in crime rather than someone who is afraid to touch your tanks and resentful that she tried to do something nice and just got yelled at. Take that advice from a fish keeping couple....

Oh, and I should mention something. My husband is really into the discus and beautiful plecos. I'm much more into the monsters. We both enjoy it all, but we have our specialties and favorites.

In my opinion, I would much rather spend that on a fish tank that will last for years instead of three expensive dinner dates that last a total of 3 hours.

In my younger days.....Chicks thought my fish tanks were BALLIN! Then after they had time to sit and watch for a bit, they'd get intrigued and fall in love with fish.

At the end of the day, I'm just happy that I got to plant the fishkeeping seed in a few girls that will remember it for the rest of their life.. :grinyes:
That's cute!
