Id switch that hob to be on the side, them add some natural gravel substrate, add some driftwood and a few larger rocks, maybe some live plants if you'd like. Then add 2-3 schools of native Cyprinids like SRBDs, yellowfin shiners,and flagfin shiners. Plus 6-8 darters on the bottom such as rainbows and Bandeds. And that's a tank I'd be content with.

Why do something other people would want? Put what you want in it, its your tank.

Pool filter sand will be much easier to clean. Also is that a top fin filter ? Your gonna wanna add more filtration what are you using for bio ?
