no way would i take a tank apart to get it inside...that bugger would be set up in the garage first.

I'd vote for house modification, yes windows work well took a huge damn couch through a window at my ex's house much easier than the door.

first thing i want when i get a house is a sliding glass door and/or a walk out basement.

I think your best bet is the window if you can remove the panes, or put in french doors or a sliding glass door
