throw some shade his way dim the tank with a floating plant or difuss the lighting if you dont have any live plants also lots of wood they really like it i added more to mine a nice floating one is cool

Hey DUDE!!!! thanks so much for the tip on diming the lights. It worked !!!! ! i put some window tint on the top of the light screen as soon as that light dimed the beast was loose. looking at it now. i now want to put him in a tank by himself and let him grow. its a awsome looking swimmer and if i could get him to grow : to 11'' or more it would be great but im not sure if a 55g would do the trick what do u think???? he's now in my 75g bow with like eight desent size fish from 3'' to 10'' hes 7and 1/2

good to hear that killerkoi they can get up to 17" or so might not be a bad idea to put him in a 55 g long with more room and some good water conditions it will give him a good chance at maxing out.

I love my 2 redtails. They grow real fast on beef heart. Mine get along fine with my oscar and angel fish and koi. But soon will have a tank of there own.

gonna startup the spare 55g tank next next week , cause a buddy and i might be gettin ready to totaly redo his 450g custom tank and drop a RTC in it .oh is it true that the cat is a slow grower after it gets to 7in or so??????
