i was wrong some planks are straighter than others I bought way more than I need so I am picking out the straighest bits to use, you live and learn ha ha
Dont be afraid of warped lumber! Use this combo to make those boards straight again:
The lag bolts are pricier than deck screws, but so is new lumber, and they are much stronger and more resilient. They say no predrilled needed, but I tap them with an 3/16" bit before drilling, and you can drill a countersink if you want a really neat look and more penetration. With the impact wrench they will suck any two pieces of wood flush together as long as they're not rotted.
Due to the price I usually don't use these for the entirety of my stands, but will use them in key places to keep everything square and true.
