wood safe for tank?

is any of this wood safe to use in my tank?
some of it is saguaro ribs, and some is palo verde tree but some im not sure

Im not sure. I had the same issue a month back. Theres some woods you should never use. Some say not to use cypress or pines etc.

Also, the wood should be hardwoods, no softwoods. Im not a wood/tree expert so I coudlnt tell you if its safe. But with found wood, you have ot make sure its really weathered, no remaining sap etc.


Do a search " selecting proper driftwood", that was a thread I started about a month ago. Theres some info in that thread about what woods to use and avoid.

I know you can't use maple but I would just ask around...if you really want make sure you boil the wood in really really hot water to kill any bateria

has it had any chemcials or pestaside(spelling?) on it. in my opinion I wouldn't use it.
I'd save the $ up and get some mopini,malaysin,or african root.

I soaked a small piece and it didn't have any tannins is than normal?
I'm going to boil It and put it in my tank now
