Wood

as long as it is a clean water source it sounds like a good idea. I may actually try doing the same. I would still boil/soak them after you remove them from the swamp.

I'd definatly boil them after. The place i'd be getting the wood is an old growth peet bog. Due to the acidity of the peet, the trees grow in all sorts of strange ways. All Twisted and gnarley, i'll definatly find some good wood.

But it all has to be hardwood, eh?

Having all that wood 20' off my dock is gonna bring in some serious baitfish, and with the baitfish comes the fishing action! WOO! lol

I bought a piece of exotic hardwood (ironwood) (rosewood) (cocobolo) (what ever you want to call it) when I was in Mexico and I was thinking of carving something fun out it for my tire track eels, but I can't find if this kind of wood is safe or not. I keep finding mixed opinions, or people who may actually have a completely different type of wood. That and no one seems to put carved peices of wood in their fish tanks.
