Intro: Well after searching all over for a black arowana, my search is now over. I wanted 1 silver and 1 black arowana for my 220 show tank. I searched many LFS because I am hesitant about ordering online. Last week, I went to a new LFS in San Antonio this guy been in business about a month. I walk in and low and behold there is a silver arrowana about 7.5 inches long. There is a $14.99 tag on the glass. I immediately buy it. Silver complete now I need a black.
I spoke with the owner of the LFS yesterday. I told him about my quest for a black arowana. He told me he can get it no problem and would be there next day. I say how much? $150...
He frequently gets silver arowana and has red tail catfish, upside down catfish, Shovelnose cats, and all kinds of cichlids. He seems to have some connections somewhere.
He wasn't BSing me either. Today I picked up my 12" black arowana for $150!!! Decent price. It was larger than I thought it was going to be.
