arowanas have the ability to utilize oxygen from the atmosphere, so depleted O2 isnt the biggest of concerns.

usually an aro dies from a power faliure because of a drop in temperature or an overstocked tank (waste intoxication)

i disagree. i've never seen this being mention. would appreciate your kind direction to these reference.

power failure is pretty normal in the philippines, i lost a silver 7 years ago coz of a black-out

my aro ocasionally gulps air by arching her back liek a bow and you can see the tip of her mouth take in alittle air at the surface

its very brief but awsome

could just be silvers though

then i again i have seen asian aros do it too

Phew.....i spent 70 bucks on my acdc battery operated pump. According to the specs it should last around 20 hours when using the alternating mode.

Small price to pay for my babies
