I have a dat that was originally from KP. It was orangey also and not yellowish.
I thought it was because KP fed it exclusively on krill. Its been with me for a year now ( almost exclusively on shrimps ) and its still has that orange tint.

Wesley, I think genetics play a significant role. For example, both the yellow widebar and psychedelic orange Caltrans pictured are fed the same diet, mostly market prawns and some bloodworms, although they both grew up eating mostly krill.

Maybe CALTRANS and Wesley's dat are related

Agreed, Like i posted earlier, i thought the KP dat would turn yellow once it starts to eat a predominantly shrimp diet ... But its still orange up to this day.
