they will eat anything just dont give into to them :D
 
I think both of mine are eating krill... if not then they haven't had a meal since 1 week after I got them off of you....

i use tetra monster pellets, but i think as long as it is a sinking pellet, the dats may learn to take it (with patience). eventually they will even take non sinking pellets and food that floats once they associate it as a food source.
 
My Dats eat shrimp plellets, but wont eat the Hikari cichlid pellets as i mistakenly bought the floating kind. So i'm guessing they will eat sinking cichlid pellets.

the weird thing is that they will eat any Krill that stays floating on top, but i figure that is because going to the top for Krill is worth it. (they love the stuff)

So far I have all my dats on prepared except for one of my NGTs...maybe my lucky day will be coming soon enough. :D
 
just feed them what you want them to eat they will eat it you just need to be strong it can take up to 5 weeks before they eat what you want

dont give in eat or die thats the rules
