With acceleration and top speed that beats out the best competition, the 2008 Polaris Outlaw 525 IRS is the fastest ATV on the market. The Outlaw 525 is a performance/sport ATV which is best for dunes and racing, as opposed to sport models which are made for back country and can take a serious beating. The Polaris Outlaw 525 IRS comes with a five speed transmission which includes reverse and an engine with over 510cc displacement. IRS, for those who are new to the ATV world, stands for independent rear suspension meaning that each wheel is free to do its own thing.
The Polaris Outlaw 525 recently received a recall for a retention bolt that came loose in less than 0.001% of vehicles causing a loss of control. The problem can be fixed for free at any Polaris dealer, and the Outlaw ATV is still the fastest one out there. The fastest ATV can be yours for the price of $6,900-7,400 depending on your specific modifications.

0-50 mph

Kaw KFX700 - 8.48 seconds

my banshee ate 2 of them few weeks ago.

I own the new Polaris 525 IRS and I absolutely love it. A buddy of mine got the Raptor 700 a week after I got mine. Several of my friends have various 450's 400's and a lone banshee. We have all raced and my Outlaw barely beat the raptor and piped banshee in acceleration (fat guy on banshee). Suzuki and Yamaha 450s actually won the accel. initially but they were piped/modded, top end neither could compete. My 525 took off quickly but was also caught quickly by both quads. Unfortunitely the outlaw will NOT beat the Raptor in top speed (stock vs. stock). Next to a car the Raptor stock went 76 mph on the street while my stock Outlaw went about 74 (those who say it will go 80 are lying, or changed out their front sprocket) The banshee wasn't there for the test but it would probably be right up there. The fastest/quickest all around quad (especially when modded) is the Quadzilla 500cc two stroke. My buddy's Raptor is now the fastest bike in the group because of his piston kit, hotcam, full exhaust, efi interceptor/controller, k/n air filter with billet adaptor and ALUM. airbox, ported heads, etc. He ran it against a piped Quadzilla (maybe other mods) with air box lid off and lost in accel and top-end (barely)! I have seen these quads run stock also and they will beat anything stock. Those are basically drag quads though, ergos and overall handling sucks.

ATVs are fun, but I'll take a snowmobile any day. Now they're FAST. :headbang2

Anyone know the top speed of my xr400? (stock)

whats funny is they chose the can-am renegade! its a utility quad! and still only .7 secs. slower! ha!!!!!!!no mention of the ds though, humm wonder why?
