not many portuguese at the game then, in comparison to dutch....
21 times we have played portugal, and we won the first time 10-0, in lisbon. both previous world cup encounters we have beaten portugal. england have won 9, and portugal 3. just some history between the two
 
And by lack of fair play, he means the Dutch who cowardly brought the ball up around the 73rd minute when fair play called for them to give the ball back to the Portuguese

Let's talk about our last 2 official matches between Portugal and England. :D


Euro 2000: Portugal 3- England 2
Euro 2004: Portugal 0 - England 0 (penalties 6-5)


The Spanish hadn't lost to Portugal in 20 years before the Euro 2004 and we defeated them. History doesn't count for much for these games.
 
ha the two players (deco and ?) were talking to each other on the side of the pitch cause theyre both barca players, even though from oposite side, talking about the **** ref lol.
 
o no i know that. i mean our world cup victories were in 86 and 66 i think, it doesnt mean much, it was just some history. i mean, we dont exactly have the same players from every game...
 
Yeah, it was Deco and Van Bronckhurst. The other Dutch player that was sent off started staring down Deco. Pretty hilarious. Van Basten is a weiner and that ref was a weiner. It's safe to assume that atleast 5-6 yellows are going to be headed Portugal's way against England so we'll be 5-6 men down for when we play Brazil :D jk
 
yea so you have ronaldo and ricardo injured? (question marks over that), figo who may be banned for at least the next game, 2 red cards, and a bunch of yellows is guna make it hard

Netherlands had better stats than portugal to be fair, but it only takes one shot to go in ;) and they missed all there opportunities.

The 23 red cards in this tournament — whose motto is “Time to make friends” — is already a World Cup record after 52 matches with 12 to go.

On a much happier note coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, who led home country Brazil to the title in 2002, extended his World Cup record mark to 11 straight victories today, which is amazing with or without playing crap teams.

There was more action in the referee's notebook than on the pitch and the bookings prevented a young and inexperienced Holland side from gaining any sort of momentum as they chased the game. So how you can say "we defeated a CLASS dutch team" i'll never know :screwy:

Portugal should have been reduced to nine when Figo was only booked for headbutting Van Bommel. what a dirty b@stard he souldn't be playing england on saturday, but seen as he is it's just another portugese player we can send home hanging his head in shame...

My prediction for for england v portugal is 2-0 england but only saturday will tell come on you england !!!!
