I absolutely agree with Hendre Hendre as a matter of fact Polypterus will spawn and most won't know it. If you don't know what to look for then eggs will be consumed by adults quickly believe me I know.

what about puffers. I heard they were hard to breed and clown loaches?
just wondering, has anyone bred inverts or mollusks before?
Pea puffers and Tetraodon schoutedeni are often bred (especially the former) and I'm sure many other puffers too. Inverts are commonly bred, especially small shrimp and also crayfish. I have red cherry shrimp that jumped from 3 to about 30 in my aquascape within a year
