Nice snake, I always liked the "normal" BP's, just something about the patterns on these that make them look so great.

One suggestion, try to convert him to pre-killed rodents. Then there is zero chance of your new pet getting bit while trying to eat. ;)
:iagree:

pre-killed is the smartest option.

All valid points on this thread. Great pick up!!

I agree with walls...the normal phase BPs are my favorite...although I am a fan of the Piebald morph.

If I was to get another snake, I would definately go with a Piebald. They are AWESOME looking.

yeah.. the security thing is definitely an issue, so I'm slowly adding numerous hides in the tank so it has safe travels to the water dish.

it's only been in there for a few days now, but the first night it was crawling all over the place, then it ate that mouse and it's been sleeping ever since. I understand the issue of potential biting and stuff, so I'm only going to feed it hoppers til it's big enough to handle larger prey.

I tell you what.. that first mouse had ZERO chance of biting.. it was a perfect clinch. ZAP!

also.. I was looking around at the morphs... and y'know, I took a nice long look at my snake and it's really beautiful.. lots of colors, they're all rich and the scales are all shiny.. gorgeous. I like the light to dark "fade" from belly to back.. really cool.

Yes, you're snake is Beautiful. My normal Ball is Beautiful too. I just thought that down the road when I am ready for another snake I would seriously consider getting a piebald. They are great looking too.

After all the research I've done, and reading these forums I think I'm doing the right thing giving it a large tank to live in.. I'm adding rocks and branches to provide lots of things for it to crawl around on, and I moved the water tray to the middle of the tank, going to surround it with little caves and stuff..

...yeah I'm one of those guys that rearranges the room/house/my shop every so often to kill redundancy... can't help it! ...so as the snake grows, I'll manage the cage to accomodate.

yeah those photos of that piebald are cool! This snake seems to be really popular and there's such a huge variety... I don't know how people could pass them up!!

until my BP's unfortunate demise three weeks ago, he was happy and thriving in a 50 breeder. He was 14 years old and 4.5 feet in length. -Andrew

So sorry to hear of your loss.
