It happens many times to my rays, but with smaller worms. If they try to eat too large piece, something will go out of the vent.... a great mechanism for pigs....

Very normal, might help him by cutting them up though. It is freaky when it goes the other way too. Instead of in the mouth in the spiracle "EAR". Sometimes when feeding a lot of pellets they will fall on the spiracle and go right in.

Ive seen earthworms comming through fishes gills but never through a rays spiracle.
