That is kind of nasty.:yuck: Let them eat the mud, it's all organic so it's good for them.:D

Yeah it is, but I'd rather squeeze a worm than have my fish eat mud. Who knows, maybe the 'fiber' is good for them lol

Large earth worms are cool, my bichirs do the "crocodile death roll" when they are in their mouths they spin extremey fast.

well looked in my 55 gallon today, and could not find my birchir,Looked in my cat fish cave and found my south american bumble bee cat had a stomach wide as he is long!
my cat is 3ichs long and my birchir is or sorry was about 6-7 inches. For 2 days it kept breathing really fast intill it started to digest it.Ill post pics soon.that was a nce 50 dollars down the drain.I know thoes little guys will eat anything they can but wow!

I just give em regular old canadian earthworms.

So you are Canadian eh? How is your team doing in the playoffs? Mine just beat out St. Louis for their first ever best of seven playoff sweep.

No I'm not bro lol but I wish I lived there sometimes so I could keep aros! :D

I'm in socali, and the earthworms I buy from wally world are labeled as 'canadian nightcrawlers'.

earthworms are great! my bichirs get a buffet when it rains:headbang2

as for prep i usually cut them into pieces, anywhere from 2-5"(easier for them to eat and allows more viewing time, although i do throw some full ones in occasionally for fun.) then i usually put them in a plastic tray i made for this purpose with small holes punched in it. let them settle and they excrete most "poo" then rinse and feeding time.
i choose to clean them out b/c i don't trust that there may be some chemicals in the soil(i know its in the worms then but it makes me feel better). also if they bite them apart the worms then excrete it into the tank:irked:

but this is the second best feeding entertainment IMO. (don't ask first;))

Is it OK to feed my Bichir Market shrimp??? You know, dead shrimp... And to the fact that shrimps have a sharp horn on their head... do that horn harm my bichirs?
