Worms in my aquarium

I had a similar problem for a couple weeks if not longer. They were small white/silvery like wroms that would float around in the current or hang out at the bottom (bare bottom growout tank). To get rid of them, start with some salt, then do about 3 water changes a week, syphoning out as many as you can, and also cut down on feeding. I did this for a little over a month, and now I havnt seen a single worm in a couple weeks. They could very well be harmless, but they definatly arent pretty to look at either.

If number are increasing then i would be concerned. Treat with fishtank parasite tratment. In case they use fish as a host cycle

Thats exactly why I opened this thread. I dont beleive they are harmful to my fish. He stopped scratching himself on the rocks and driftwood. I am still treating for parasites as a percautionary measure

I did the same, as the tank I had the problem in was my growout for the pbass. He was still on feeders at the time so initially I thoiught that had to be the source. Turned out it wasnt as I finaly got him to eat frozen foods. I just added salt, doubled up my water change schedual, and added some prazi pro every now and then.

In between water changes too if you see some hanging around just suck them out with a small syphon. I made a small one to get into tbe tight spaces by useing some airline tubing (like what the airstones use just more flexible) then stuck some clean straws over top to make a solid 10" end piece so it doesnt flop around in the tank. Then just top off your tank after.
