The land of the pine
I just noticed there are tiny white worms all over the floor of my tank. There was also one larger dead one on the floor. There's a bunch of baby bowfin in the tank and I don't want the rest to die. I've heard worm medicine can kill baby bowfin. What do I do? I need help quick!

Are they actually affecting the bowfins? They're probably harmless and just there from overfeeding. Feed less, do a big water change.

I forgot to add that 2 of the bowfin died and the big tapeworm came out of one mouth.

Yeah but I mean, did you see the bowfin when it died? Because the planaria would be eating the dead fish, and so they'd be crawling all over it. They may not be the cause of death.

I didn't see it die. How do I get rid of them?

Feed less and vacuum your gravel/sand or whatever you've got on the bottom of the tank. You want to remove all excess food particles from the tank and the worms will not have a food source. You could theoretically put in some kind of small active bottom feeder that might help eat them up, but I probably wouldn't bother.
