worried about my festae.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I fear that I have been power feeding a little too aggressively... I think I tend to overfeed without really knowing it. It's probably due to my lack of experience with monster fish.

I gave him some peas over the weekend, reduced temp a few degrees down to 78, large water change as usual and going to fast him for today.

I will resume normal feeding tomorrow but adjust the amount I feed to ensure I am not going to overfeed. Also no more freeze dried bloodworm

Too much food can be stressful on the fish. Some just keep eating until way too bloated and get stressed out. If you still have algaemax, you can add that into the feed regime.

Quick update.

I turned down temp to 77 gradually.
Reduced the amount I feed.
No more freeze dried blood worms.
Fed some peas for a day then skipped a feeding day.

He is back or a normal feeding schedule and is doing good. I think it's all cleared up as I haven't seen any suspect feces.

Slowly coloring up as a young male should. Very eager to feed and active all day.

Good to know that it's doing better with a change to its diet. Let it have it's "cool down" period in the winter months. Anywhere from 75-77f is good.
