Hi Guys,
Im really worried about the green phantom pleco i bought about a week ago. He used to be a solid avocado green like normal. Now he is slightly lighter with some darker (more avo color) spots on his fins and a couple other places. I put some veggies in there today for him to eat with some algea wafers because i haven't seen him and thought i'd treat him (cucumber and lettuce).
Tank params:
Temp: now 78 was 80.5 for the past week
Ph 7.6
nitrates, nitrites, and ammonia all low at the moment because i just did a large water change and really cleaned my filter well. I know i should have the proper numbers but im out of the testers.
I do water changes once a week, 75 gallons (45 gallon changes)
Tank mates are two medium severums, 4 medium geos, three small african cichlids, 2 oblique zebra cichlids.
I ve had PH issues for the last couple weeks trying to get it down more so it was at 8 yesterday and this morning. Its worth mentioning that ive had bristle plecos in this tank in the recent past that have died. white spotting, lose of bristles, shimmieing, and flaking
I've never had a really nice pleco and REALLY WANT TO make this guy really healthy.
If anyone knows anything I would really appreciate it!!!
Thanks,
