Got my buddy about 3 months ago. 8 or 9 inch fire eel. Real great guy really active and would come say what's up too me and everything. Well I had a 55 made in 99 on 2 end tables and decided to upgrade. The switch over only took about 2 hours he was in a bucket for about 45 minutes (I kept adding water from the tank). Well now he doesn't come out at all not even at dinner time. Haven't seen him since I put him in the new one. Hopefully he'll bounce back?ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1367279981.246339.jpgImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1367280054.403775.jpgView attachment 908440

yep, very touchy fish... whenever i move any of my spineys for the most part they hide a few days.. just keep with your reg routine ect and he should be back to normal soon.

He get up into the filter? if you can't at least find him. I would look for him at this point. may try luring him out first with some food, but he may have decided your HOB was the best place to be.

LOL this is pretty common in fire eels.. I would drop the water level an inch or so below the return so he can't get back up in there and hurt himself. Once he acclimatizes and starts eating you can try raising it back up. usually once they do it once they will do it again.... smart lil' buggers.
