Hi, I'm new to this forum and was looking for some advice on my situation. I've almost got my new AGA 75G tank ready for filling, but I've put it on pause because I've noticed a few air pockets in the silicone. The beads inside the aquarium look solid, but where the joint of one pane of glass meets the other and silicone was applied...there are a few air pockets. The pocket/bubbles don't extend to the outside of the aquarium (trapped pockets), but are enough to make me wonder. Am I over analyzing the probablity that something will happen? The pocket/bubbles only appear where the glass met other glass and not on the inside beads.

The vertical bubble is probably 1/2" long and the one above that horizontal is about 1/4" long. The bubble/pockets are no more than 1/16" wide. There are 1-2 more bubble/pockets that vary in the size just below the silcone bead where the right panel of glass met the front panel of glass.

In the case that you say I'm sol b/c it is a large bubble and not small....where do I go from there? In the case that I am sol, does AGA cover/replace it?

The tank should be under warrantee if you dont want to take the chance. The integrity of the seams is most likely fine as it is but I think My concern would be with how strong the bond is on the rest of the joints. The bubbles you see may well only be the tip of the iceburgh so to speak.

AGA will replace it. I don't see that from them very often. You shouldn't worry too much. My 135 has bubbles at all seams, but it has a euro brace, and doesn't leak at all. I'd recommend setting it up somewhere where it won't do damage if it does leak, like a garage. That way if it does, you can use the warranty, if not, and it is like that for a few weeks, then set her up ]V[onster style! :D Good luck, let us know how it goes.

Got a pic to show us?

Can you not see the pic in my original post? I'll post a different pic if you can't. How do I go about getting a replacement from AGA? Call customer service and tell them my tank has slightly elongated vertial air pockets in the joints? Is it a lengthy process?

:welcome::mwave: Neighbor.

Did you buy it locally, online or direct from the manufacturer?

:iagree: with
WyldFya and Wolf3101 it probably won't matter, but if it is under warranty go for it , the bubbles shouldn't be there.

Don't use the word slight, you wouldn't say a slight leak would you?
