Worst canister filter ever.

If that is going to stay stock I would do 2 ac110's with strategically placed wavemakers. With your options I would do eheim's with wavemakers.....even a 2262 with them would work. I love my xp3 also for ease of cleaning.

You mean as a substrate?...should be.A short while ago I was on the verge of buying the Marineland canister from another member and after reading some of the comments here I'm kind of glad that I didn't buy it.

I like the idea of 2 ac110s. Are the ok with pool filter sand?

The ac's I have are all on pfs and if you are concerned you could spend a few bucks and get pre-filter sponges on the intakes.

I run 2 fluval 405s that I picked up used on craigslist on my 135g. aside from replacing an impeller cover that I broke the clip off removing it, and re lubing up the gaskets they work great. I do have a little problem priming them after maintenance but maybe its just operator error. keeps my water levels great even with a large bio load

I'll never understand why anyone would buy a filter other than Eheim or the Fluval FX5/6. They're all crap.

I have a fluval 104, and 406
Also have an eheim 2213.

the build quality of the eheim is superior. I am a huge fan.

I will add however I've had no issues with my fluvals, even my 104 which is probably over 10 years old.

If I do purchase another canister it will be eheim.

I'm running an fx6 and 406 on my 125g and have been very happy with ease of maintenance and overall performance. I would say I have moderate to heavily stocked tank. Around 14 bichirs a few raphael catfish and 4 leopard ctenopoma.
