sorry about that, I've just bought one as well.
I have a firm lid on but there is space between the lid and the tenssion / brace glass that runs round the top of the tank, ans the lid sits on. I'm presuming if mine jumped out of the water and ended up on one these it'd flap until it fell back in the water.
