x2. Putting a tank like that is disaster waiting to happen.

Now that's deep! :grinno:
Somehow, I knew you were going to post on this thread and quote me!

Don't give yourself too much credit! :grinno: If you take a good look, it's not about you, and worst, you only came in second! I'm not surprise, though... Even when you sold your fish, you still can't let go of ownership, so it must be all about you!

Hope you can fix the leak, Doowee. Good luck to you. :)

I guess so!

get a little of the thin weldon put it inside the seem let it seal then go on it again with the thicker drying weld on, it will make a very strong seal however i would recommend resealing the whole thing, and support it all evenly and put a 3/8 or larger rubber or cork pad under it. this will make the weight distribute evenly on the rubber or cork rather than the acrylic =], i think i got my weld on at ace hardware last time i made a tank so try there. i forget what the different kinds are labled as just read it one thickens and one is thin, MAKE SURE NOT TO DRIP THIS STUFF ON ANYTHING BUT THE SEALING AREA =p you will regret it

I put Weld On 16 all over the bottom brace, with no acrylic strips :/ will it hold? I put a row of 2x6 on the bottom made it look pretty decent, :P HAO YOU NOOB GET LOST haha <3

When you fix it, support the tank evenly to prevent it from bowing and separating at the seem or possibly cracking. Acrylic is not like glass tanks where you can just support it from each corner

Yeah this is your fault. lol. Acrylic needs to be completely supported on the bottom. You can't just put bricks under each end and fill it. Should be an easy fix though.

shouyld be okay without the strips give it plenty of time regardless of the "curing" time, fill it in a couple days make sure the surface you put it on is completely level and supported evenly, putting a piece of plywood on the blocks won't help.... you need a stand even if you build it yourself with cross beams on all 4 sides. don't forget the rubber or foam or cork =]

IMAG0726.jpgIMAG0727.jpg kind of redid my "stand"idea got 2x6 laying on the bottom, cut a hole for the space of the bottom overflow, and got all my plumbing down today :D looks weird but hopefully everything works out good! By the way, how many day should I let Weld On 16 cure for?

i just put a very thick line of weld on 16 all over the edges on the bottom pannel, I didn't use a needle but instead I kinda added a thick line of it on the bottom pannel will that be better than using a needle and pushing the Weld On to the corner of the tank? Its been 48 hours and it seems pretty hard should I do a water test?
