Worst injury

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Our worst injury ended up fatal. We had a 5" Oscar that never made it to 6." When our son was 7 years old, he lifted up the lid of the tank to feed the Oscars. The black Oscar jumped out and landed in our daughters potty chair. We freaked out and hurried to get the Oscar back in the tank.........
BIG MISTAKE!!!! We were so paniced about the fish being out of the water that we didn't stop to think of rinsing it off (I know what you must be thinking but No, there was nothing in the potty chair, it was empty). Needless to say our Oscar died 3 days later. Who knows what really caused the death whether it was the trauma from the fall or contamination.

I had a pleco that I ended up euthanizing after it was butchered by a Phago maculatus, It had no eyes, fins or tail and was sliced open in several places. The phago was pencil thin and about 6-7" long, the common pleco was more than 8" and well fed. It was the last nonfeeder that shared a tank with the psychotic little bastard.

My Ex bf Ki, 4 years ago came home with 2 american freshwater eels (anguilla rostrata) well we split and it seemed that the eels wanted to too, as they would fight and "whodini " kept jumping out of the tank , so i got a call to come get him. and put him in my tank. few days later Ki wanted to come over and check on him (at the time i had a 20tall on a pine shelf unit with a shelf about 8 inches abouve the tank) well Dumass sticks his head under the shelf right over the tank with the lid up , and was talking to whodini " hi whodini , hi whodini" waving his head back and forth!!
well i think whodini just doesn't like Ki!! shoots out of the water and chomped onto Ki's nose!!!!!! and wouldn't let goo !!!!!!!! ki's screamming trying to pull him off his nose, which is impossible!!! I can't help him as i'm on the floor laughing to hard to anything!!!!!lol !! Ki still has his head under the shelf screaming finally whodini figured he proved his point or something and let go and he went back into his cave!!!!!!! Ki turns around with his nose all bleeding !!!! rolmao Sorry no pics but the two U shaped chomp scares are still there !!!!!!
yeah gotta see that

not really any injury or a monster just a funny story. the guard on my canister filter intake somehow came off. i noticed it off so i decided to take apart the filter and clean it. when i opened it up there was my little kenyi cichlid hangin out in there. he was stuck and could not move at all. i hav no idea how long he was in there, could have been as much as 24 hrs. still got him 6 months later goin strong and being a little bully.

I got bit by my flowerhorn...I dont care how tough you are fish with teeth hurt when they bite you. It hadnt drawn blood but it made a couple of red spots where it had bit my finger. Kind of like when someone pinches you hard enough to leave a mark. Sucks when this happened cause I was just trying to clean his tank but he didnt care. You guys have fishes I would be terrified of sticking my hand in the tank for but your guys love for your fish keeps pushing you to keep raising them. I salute your bravery!

Welcome to MFK! Having said that, why is potty chair next to fish tank?

LOL. I am trying to figure out a way to make my toilet a fish tank.

I had a 13" Wolf fish Latch on to my arm like a Pitbull when I was cleaning my tank a few years ago.
