i was just wanting to know what is the worst thing that have ever happened to you when you were cleaning or doing any other activity in your fish tank. it can be injuries. smash the glass whatever!

I was bitten by a lungfish smashing my fingernail and I had to go to the hospital.

The second worst was not running the garbage disposal before I emptied half my 55 gallon with a python.... Thank god I had wood floors.

My friend managed to knock over a lava rock pile while servicing his 72 bow it emptied the tank in about 2 seconds.

Doing multiple tanks back in the day, forgetting about the python draining on one, and coming back just in time to see the fish hangin out at 45 degree angles in what's left. whew

Changed the water forgot to put prime in. It is a 29 gallon thats next to computer desk in my room. I finished the water change and was sitting at my computer. The tank had a pair of shell dweller cichlids Lamprologus' brevis and four Julidochromis transcriptus and 2 bushy nose plecos. The brevis was about 2 inches and would attack my hand if I got anywhere near my hand. Anyway I was sitting at my computer and i heard a loud splash. It was the sound of the female brevis dying and floating violently to the top of the water by the time I figured out what I had done and put prime in the water I had lost both my brevis and 3 of the 4 transcriptus. This all happened at 11 at night and I just about cried and didn't fall a sleep till 4 in the morning. It was the low point of my fishkeeping.

How big of a water change was this? Would take a lot of municipal chlorine to do that if it was less than a 50% change.

jammed a sea urchin spine half way up my nail and it broke off under the nail.

*cringe*

I've shocked myself a few times during water changes. Some what more unsettling than an electric live stock fence but not as quite bad as a taser.

just last week i had a 20 gal tank crank i was in the room and i ran down to the basment and grabed a rubbermaid contanier and i scooped aton of the water into it
then i realized there was a crack in that rubbermade and there was 15 gallons leaking into the roof of the first floor and now there is some water damage in my brothers room

my mom was tempeted to not let me get another tank and let all my fish die in a bucket

the stock list was
1 firemouth (lived)
1 rainbow shark (died)
5 zebra danios (3 died) fell on the floor relized it the next day
1 rosy barb (lived)
1 pleco(lived)
1 julichromis transcriptis( lived)
1 african butterfly (lived)

bursting my 55gallon after making a water change. the tank had just been filled. i turn my head and see water rushing out like crazy. i dont know it was luck or what but i was able to seal that wet tank with water leaking out through the crack with a silicone. that was crazy.i still run that tank though.
