Worth it?

Is this a "If I sell my fishes, then I can get a caiman." thing or "I'm trading my fishes for a caiman." thing?

If you're selling the fishes in order to buy the caiman, then I say go for it provided that it's legal and that you can provide it with the proper diet, housing, and so on for its natural life span. Crocodilians are not cheap to feed, and it's certainly not cheap to provide them with proper housing, so keep that in mind. You're also going to want to read as much as you can on them in order to better prepare yourself. Lastly, don't forget that it can hurt/maim/kill/eat you if you're not careful!

I know that I would sell of my fishes in order to make that happen. I would have liked to have kept my American alligator, but it wasn't the best idea at the time despite me knowing what I needed to do in order to keep in healthy & happy as well as having the funds to do so. It's worth noting that American alligators are a better choice for temperament but not for size (with females staying smaller [7' to 10' on average]) whereas dwarf caimans stay a bit smaller (5' for Cuvier's, up to 7.5' for Schneider's) but are more aggressive.

Also, read this entire guide as well as this one before proceeding; they are excellent sources of information and will help to prepare you for taking the plunge.

id say no because even though caiman are badass it will get mean and you wont like it that much. but if you can resell that caiman and come out with more $ than all of that stuff is worth than do it.

it would be a cool pet for a while but I'd say DONT DO IT

I would say go for it, as long as you know what your getting into. If you get bored it shouldn't be too much trouble to sell the caiman and get back into monster fish.
