wot should i add???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i know that carpinte and RT's are alot more aggressive then oscars!!! heck what isnt! although my dad has a 9" oscar living with a 10" RD and the RD is a phsyco.

try a male carpintis maybe you can get lucky and it will breed with your female festae. overall i think they will be some chasing here and there but nothing to bad.

ok thanks for the reply's ill post up some pics when im done in a few months.

whooo whooo red terrors are very aggressive and the females are useually the more aggressive of the two sexs a male would be better as far as aggression they how ever do get alot bigger but red terrors are rated in the top 5 most aggressivve cichlids in the world and the earn that tital very we'll so if you go for a red terror MAKE SURE you have anouther tank it can go in or be prepared to lose some of the fish you have theres alot of festea that are killers

i'd go with
jack dempsey ( get a male the females colors just don't compare)
green terror or gold saum (seeing as reall greens are very aggressive and very hard to find atleast out here)
parachromis loisellie ( or anouther parachromis but these fish have very wide ranges in aggression so like the red terror be very carefull or keep them with fish you don't mind them killing)
pike cichlids are very nice some have very nice colors and they are all ways hugery

theres a few what kind of fish are so looking for colorful, interactive, peacful or all of the above ?

i kept my F0 female festae with smaller Firemouths:)she was 6" and they were 3-4", i now kept her with a GT, JD'S,Jags and carpintis and shes the peacekeeper with the GT.

are you attached to your oscar? and snook? personly i would sell them off,

you could have
female festae
carpintis
JD
GT
female jag
salvinis
etc theres alot to choose from, its down to your taste on cichlids

im still gonna go with the female festae.

david where did you get your female from???? she's lovely.

i have a divider which i can always use if things get out of hand, i do like the snook and the oscar, but i guess if anything goes wrong i will have to get rid of one or the other. i will end up getting the festae in a few months time after i have everthing setup and ready.

wot size tank did you think i have?????

"agression will dictate any other stocking. if anything it will have to be small as scubasteve said" wot do you mean by this???? what will have to be small?

I was :screwy: myself, because I was telling you that you were stocked because I thought you had a smaller tank (don't ask why cause I have no idea). What I meant by aggression dictating any other stocking is with the fish you have, mainly the texas, and the addition of a festae, they will decide if they want you to add any more fish or not.

No, please don't cross them!

You might have problems between the festae and the carpinte because they are both insanely aggressive. (in my case anyway)

Keep moderately sized dithers in there too, like lemon barbs, tinfoil barbs, and giant danios. Without dithers, your fish will almost always have torn fins. (only choose 1 species of dither though)

i may have to end up moving one or the other.

3 tinfoils would be ok as dithers??? or should i do 5??
