Would a emperor 400 work in my tank?

yeah i guess i'll go with 2 of the smaller filters.
might not need them for awhile since it's gonna take months to fully stock my fish, and then months for them to grow pretty big.

fishgonewild; why would you want to cut a filter?
yeah it'll probably fit; after looking all disguisting, but now you have the problem of the water spilling all over the top of the tank

Well the whole purpose of cutting the filter is for it to sitting lower on the trim which keep it stable. There is absolutely no leak. The purpose is to fit wider trim. If you want to read about it then here is the thread.
