I just recently added an AC300 to my tank to assist my XP3 for my 75g tank. I have 1x 8"Oscar, 1x 7"Pleco, 1x 7"Channel Cat. The bio-media inserts for the AC300 are brand new. I noticed the water was a little cloudy, and is still cloudy after the water change. Parameters are the same now as they were before.

Ammonia 0ppm Nitrite 0ppm Nitrate 15ppm (before a 25-30% weekly change)

Unless you rinsed the bio max under running water for a couple minutes, that is likely the cause of the cloudyness. Give it a couple more hours to clear.

Ok thanks for the help. Probably might be what happened, I put the filter on a week ago, but when I water changed I did vaccume the gravel which might have stirred up some sediment and the HOB drained so it be some dust when it restarted. Ill check it in the morning.

Still a bit cloudy, and a slight odor to it. I am going to clean my XP3, its been a little a while. Im guessing thats the problem, parameters are still good.

Having a spike after adding bio media, is 100% normal....Whether it is adding to an existing filter, or add a new filter all together, expect a spike. Happens in my tanks anyhow.
