I know there are lists and plenty of info about compatable fish with the bichirs and also my rope but i did not see anything about the Ghost knife.. would these guys be okay together in the tank.. 2 bichirs and one rope.. thanks..:)

my bgk is fine with my bichirs. i never see him eat, but he is alive after 4 months, so he must be eating, and hes grown about 2". as long as they are to large to be eaten, should be ok. mine is actually in with an ornate, sengal, and a ropefish. so, ya, it can work :).

sometimes the bichirs will force him out of one hiding spot, but i have planty, and there has never been any real aggression, just bichirs going in and knife going out. :).

so, ya, ime it should be fine.

Thank you.. that is great to hear..what size tank do you have them in..this is only a 29 gal but the bichirs and rope are small yet.. bichirs are about 3 inches and rope about 7 and knife about 5 inches.. i just don't want the bichirs taking a bite out the knife's tail etc.. thank you.. i may have a shot that this will work.

I personally would think the bichirs would bite the tail - I'm surprised to hear about the one that is doing well.
I've had tankfulls of bichirs and they do snap at ... anything...

I think if the knife is a decent size it should be ok. I tried one that was about 3" with my polys and after 2 days it disappeared and i never found it so i guess they had it but most of my poly's were around the 12" mark at the time. Thinking of giving the knife another go but think I'll go for a royal clown of at least 10" to be on the safer side! I'd say with similar sized senegals a ghost would be fine. Good luck!

I have a 5-6 incher bgk and with 2 baby senegal bichirs in a 75g tank. Just put some hidingplace for the bgk. The most important thing is the bgk must at least be bigger than your bichirs. Try my method, you could try putting some ghost shrimp or baby feeders to remove aggression with your bichirs and bgk.

there in a 75g. the sengal is about 9" and fat, the ornate about 7.5" not that fat, the knife about 7", and the rope about 11". at first i thought they may mistake his tail as a worm, but have never had a problem. only problem is the knife is still to scared to come out with the lights on. he comes out and cruises around with my cold cathode lighting though, so i know all is well.

That sounds like a good idea.. thanks
