Hey y'all! I'm asking this for a friend: Would Hoplo catfish (around 10x) and convicts (around 4x) get along together in a 300g tank?

Thank you!

All depends on the convicts. Generally the hoplo will be extremely timid and easy going which is not the nature of convicts all the time. I have had easy going ones and I have had convicts kill 4 piranha .
My guess would be yes due to the size of the tank as long as you’re not putting baby hoplos with adult convicts.

Would extensive hiding spots (driftwood, rocks, etc) help protect both parties from aggression since everyone would have their spots?
This wouldn't matter for the smaller convict female. A pair of convicts with eggs, wrigglers, free swimming fry are on another level of aggression. The hoplo is armored so that may help until it is removed.

Overlooked it is a 300 gallon that may work.
