Silver dollars are always a good choice, they are hardy and many have had success with them with rays

I currently keep a 16 inch Florida gar with my motoros and they get along great. The gar stays on the top most of the time but in the mornings I see him resting on the sand and he leaves the rays alone.

Go with a florida or a shortnosed gar. So much cooler then silver dollars... just sayin.
