Moving some stuff around at my place, getting ready for the downsize. :irked:

I would like fellow raykeepers opinions on tanksize. I have a 72x36x18 tall tank that I'm contemplating putting rays in. Rays are 12-16 inch diameter disk. HOW many would you feel comfortable housing in this sized tank? Filtration will be overkill, and tank will more then likely be ran on a drip if it's gonna have rays in it.

Thanks in advance........ :)

36" wide? If so, I would try a trio and see how the parameters hold up. I wouldn't go over that. If you notice any aggressive behavior then throttle back to 2 if this a planned as a long term ordeal.

I would do 3-4 rays

Yes, 36 wide. 6 by 3.

I was shooting for 4. Like I said overkill on the filtration with a drip system.

What about 4x3? Trio if they're closer to the low end of the size range (12 inch disk)????

And to answer, definetly NOT a long term ordeal. Hopefully it doesn't happen at all but if it does I want it to be a safe short term solution.

i agree u could do more if u rely wanted to.. but to be comfy long term, 4 max

in a 4x3 i would say 2 or 3 max

Lincolngoh has 9 rays in a 6 x 4 x 2 and his water is as crystal clear as any I seen. Not counting the 2 asian aros.
Not saying that is what you should do, but it just amazed me that his water was so pristine.
