Would my fire eel bel with these cichlids

i have a 5 inch fire eel with a bunch of mixed african cichlids and hes fine but most of the cichlids are about 3"...as soon as im done with my 180g i'm working on all the cichlids will be moved out of the 240g into the 180g and the fire eel will then be joined by a delhizi, marbled cat, and maybe a silver aro.

Will they be ok with hujeta gars as we'll or no??

hujetas only get to about 10-12inches....hmmm...not real sure

hujetas won't be okay with cichlids.. and likely neither will your fire. most Tangs will stay fairly small.. ie smll enought eventually they will become food for the eel or hujetas if the cichlids don't kill them prior to that... fire eels are gentle giants for the most part.. I would not mix them with cichlids. and when I did they where bullied badly, they where fine until the cichlids matured which is fairly fast. Then all heck broke loose. I kept my fire eels with some florida gars, again gentle giants.

There is also the Ph issue: fire eels up tp 7,5; tanganyika cihclids not lower than 8

Why Fire Eel? Both M. elipsifer and M. plagiostoma are Tanganyikan eels. Both are more expensive but cheaper than upgrading a tank for the Fire eel.
