Would red hump eartheater work with rtgg florida gar?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The rtgg has been a pain... but hes so damn fun to keep... I thought of a oscar for a tank mate aswell but not sure if a 210 is big enough for that lol or if they'd just fight
Mine was a beauty but he was a menace. Definitely a cool fish if he will be your main one you only care about. He was just curious to see what happens when he bites things. He didnt really pursue fish to kill them but damaged them from time to time.

I think you'll need to get rid of either the gar or giant gourami, more likely the gourami as the earth eater occupies the bottom of the tank while the gar occupies the top, but a giant gourami occupies the entire tank. As far as giant gouramis go, I have always found them to be peaceful, but I think that's just the exception. I have (like duanes duanes ) said, found that geophagus are peaceful except with their own species., so I think the geophagus won't be an issue.

That's exactly what mine is like... it's almost like a game for him...
Same as a cat just looking for **** to get into or a dog knocking over your garbage in the kitchen lol

I guess you only know once you try... some odd combinations have worked for me in the past and present.
My ornate bichir attacked my Raphael's when I first introduced them in the tank... so I was gonna move them and I could only find one... a week later I see the Raphael has been staying under the big peice of driftwood I have on one side of the tank along with my Asian bumblebee... not a big deal except that's where my ornate stays during the day aswell... no issues with the 2 of them anymore... they eat together... hide together... rest together

Well I bit the bullet and got a Male and female... bit worried as the female is pretty small only about 2.5 inches... Male looks big enough not to be bothered

Will move to another tank if I see too much aggression from anyone else
