Would these fish be fine with each other

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I looked at the initial set up costs for a 20,000 gallon pond
it is around 10,000$
the heater uses 1.5 kwh so I think heating is affordable for me
Yeah I think I should go for a 20,000 gallon pond
Maybe I should swim in it o_0

1.5 kw won't have any measurable effect on a pond that size.

Ill look this up later, but I believe arapaima are restricted in the state of Texas

15k gal would be more than enough.. My pond is 3, something k and could house all of those except pima, size-wise.

I said this was for future reference.
I know that it is illegal in texas!
I said we are planning on building a pond when we move.

make sure the pond is WAY bigger than 3 feet wide....

With the previous reply (quoted below) you make it sound as if your building in the area you currently live in :duh: this area some of the fish are illegal. You sound confused.

The area I live in has consistent warm temperatures no lower than 60 so i dont think heating would be as expensive as you stated

Ok let restart.
When I move I will build the pond.
Based on where we move that will affect the pond size and the fish stock.
I would like to thank all of you for giving me a heads up on how expensive this could be.
No more help needed..... for now.

Personally, I won't bother set up a large tropical outdoor pond when you can't see the fish....stick to koi, goldfish and other coldwater species that has albino/gold form.
