would this light be enough for a 29gl

I would go with HO. You will have much better growth and color.

Compacts are nice but I started out with them and now hate them lol, so its hard for me to suggest them. There are applications where they work best, but if you want diversity in corals and dont want halides, go with T-5's. The nova series is great, and even if they are not designed to hang, some Rebare tie wire works well and you can make a hanger style bend and just twist tie them together, just keep salwater off of them and you will be fine.

i actually saw a coralite fixture i liked today and will prolly buy. a 30 inch t5ho with 4 bulbs. 128watts. the same guy has live rock i am prolly gonna get too. it's uncured, but a couple weeks and that's good rock to me.
 
are you sure its t5 HO, i dont think they make 30" HO units. Regular t-5's are 30" but not HO so you lose a ton of growth power.

it was ho. i'm certain. the bulbs might not have been the whole length of it, but it was ho.
