Would this work in a 30 gallon?

I was thinking of doing a cichlid community in my 30g with the smaller-medium cichlids. Here's the tentative plan:

1x Firemouth
1x Festivum
1x Convict
1x Salvini
1x Blue Acara

The blue acara would be largest maxing at around 8" and the festivum the smallest at around 4". All the others should max at around 6" so I think the tank should be able to handle the bioload with adequate filtration and water changes.

I'm looking for input about the stocking levels and possible issues with aggression. I could lose the festivum but I want an odd number of fish so I would wanna replace it with something else.

It would work to grow them out for a while but that list would be cramped In a 55 when full grown IMPO....

And that is all it should be. Actually you should only have One salvini in there or a con and a FM or one blue arcara or con, festivum and your final choice Festivum and an FM.

It will work for awhile, but be prepared to relocate. Planning on a fish dying is not a good stocking plan.

I agree, upgrades will eventually be needed. If it were a 30g long and your list containted smaller species then a 30g community could work. Keyholes, rams, apistos. Those all stay small enough.

Who said I was planning on a fish dying? When I said I could lose the festivum, I meant I would be willing to not include it in the tank.

I think I may just go with a pair of salvini's though, would that work?

yeah be prepare for a update if u do get the fish i had 1JAG, 1JD and 2Heros in a 30G for a while but then aggression when up so end up having like 4 tanks but now 125G so imagine what could happen with that many in a 30.
