I have been itching to pick up "one more fish." I know we've probably all said it and then bought like 5 more at some point, but hey. . . :screwy:

Would my GT be okay with one or two convicts and one featherfin synodontis catfish in a 55 gallon? I know my signature says rainbow fish right now, but really, they are only there until the other guy(s) get big. If one or two cons IS okay then what would be the wisest combo of male and or female? Two males, or two females? A breeding pair would be out of the question right?

If not cons, then are there other smallish cichlids that might work, besides firemouths?

At full size there really is only enough room for the Green Terror. I keep one with 4 tiger barbs, and a red tailed shark. They are all little right now but in the end I feel I am pushing it. Even if you did jam them in, it probably wont matter the combo, because they will likely kill each other for territory. Breeding pair would just make it 2 vs 1 against the GT.

Once these fish hit adult size you won't be able to have anything else, so I wouldn't add anything now unless you are willing to move fish around to another tank eventually.
