I hate putting tap water directly in my aquarium from the python (Its personal preference I know a lot of guys dont think that it matters).
Anyways I want to put this in the bottom of a trash can

I would like to mount a water pump in the bottom of a garbage can that way I can fill the garbage can with tap water then let the dechlorinator kill the chlorine / chloramine then hopefully use the pump at the bottom of the trash can to pump in clean and fresh dechlorinated water.

Can anyone recommend a pump I just need 4' head height and not a huge amount of flow id say 200 GPH or 100 at least GPH

Thanks for any and all help MFKers :)

get a bigger pump it will cut down on the overall time especially for the 400# next u need a bigger hose to fill the can

I dont understand. I roll up the garbage can near the tank. Fill it with proper temperature water and mix up with dechlorinator then allow the pump to move the new fresh water in to the tank. Or did I miss something?

no, to cut the time it take to do the WC you will wish for a faster method to fill the can im still looking too it takes about 1 hour to do 1/3 WC on my 300# i use a big 2000 gph pump but still have to wait so long just to refill the 55g drum

JAFRIAS- Unless you use several hoses at the same time, I dont think there is gonna be a good way to fast-fill a trashcan. Get more trashcans so you can fill them all up whenever you have time, then use the water whenever you do your WC. The water can sit in the can for a few days...

tcarswell- I like the idea! Is one can big enough for your WC's? You could still use one pump, just move it to the next can when that one runs low... If you let the water sit, you could use a Nitrate-reducing product of some kind before the water goes in the tank.
