i am setting up a 75 gallon salt tank soon. It will be housing my green spotted puffer, i just wanted to know if i could add a koran angel and a lionfish. would this work?

Theoreticaly should, but it depends on the sizes, if the puffer/lion are bigger then the angel then it could mean death for the angel, but at the same time, this is a large angel, so once fully grown they should all be compatable (though im not 100% on the max size of the puffer).

BUT one problem is the recomended tank size for that angel is 100gal so I would suggest going bigger or choosing a different angel possibly a Blue Girdled Angel, or maybe an Annularis Angel, they both get to around 1', but are supposably suitable in 70gal, so wouldnt be a big problem around most average size preds.

only problems i see with the compatabillity are that the green spotted puffer is a fin nipper and may terrorize the lion and angel, and the salinity that puffer does well in is light brackish till over 2 inches then gradually stepped up till over 4 inches and it should be around 1.015-7 or so the rest of its life. which is way too light on the salt for the lion and angel. so you would either have to have the lion and angel or the puffer in the wrong salinity

Once again others proving they know more about preds then I do haha, I'd listen to their advice, for one TheCanuck is a pred master he has waaay to many (in a good way).

well for a lil input the puffer should be fine as long as you have dithers in the tank to keep his attention of ur other main fish and give him the propper space for him to clame as territory. As well the puffer can go full marine as well i have 2 gsp's at 1.018 sg ( there at like 2-3 inches ) and by the time i hit mid may they will be full marine. but each puffer has his own personality i have 2 and they dont bother any of the 6 mollies i have as well as my moray, So in the end it depends on ur puffer.

green spotted puffers do very well in marine.
I was thinking about a fu manchu lion fish, and yes i realize the angel will get too big, i'll probably look into a smaller one or something else.
Also, i've never seen my puffer nip any other fish and they dont show any of bite marks either.

well i think you should be ok you sound as if you kno what you are doing.

But as the puffers get bigger they get more aggresive, as well a puffer wil do fine with a fish for a long time before deciding to take a mouth full out of it.
