Sounds like your water change routine is good. Never can have too clean water...lol my 330 has a 40gpd drip and I still do a 75% weekly water change that's with a 75 gallon sump too. I suspect it's nearly impossible to change too much water.
I have changed my mind and wondered if I had the ntt dat, red bay snook, geo brasiliensis would work with a group of clowns in my tank for life, also is the 18" width be to small for the dat and snook. Thanks for any replies
18" tank would be a bit too small for full grown snook in my opinion. Also, a 12" snook could very easily eat a 5-6" clown loach. They have huge expandable mouths like a peacock bass.

Flagtail would be fine, they grow a little slow and aren’t terribly competitive for food. I recently tried to put my little 4” FT in with my clowns and he just couldn’t compete with the ravaging horde so he’ll have to spend more time growing up before going back in.
