Would you buy one FX6 for $250 or two FX4's for $200

I'm not familiar with pothos? Would I put those in one of the FX4.s?
Nope, you would have to make a little room at the top of the tank for them to have their roots in the water. I recommend leaving the roots and some stem in the water.
The other two answers are good so I would listen to then as well.

I'd go with 2 FX4s..... more flow- more filtration- more options for filter materials.... it's an easy decision for me....2 is more than 1.

Whats the lighting requirement like for pothos?

Would I want/need to add a light for it or is the indirect light from the light bar on top of the tank probably enough to see some benefits?

The pothos leaves can thrive under the light in a tank hood. Or you can have the leaves up above the tank lid and they will thrive on natural daylight, even in fairly shady corners of a room.
