I told my boss today, that I will not drive the company's car with broken signal lights. The signal lights for the right and left are broken and not working. Other employees drove it without putting up much of a resistance but for me, I flat out said to the boss, I will not drive it.

Am I wrong?

Its called hand signals :D you shouldve know them in order pass the drivers test.

You should also ask your boss if he will pay for any tickets his employees might receive...lol

Yea, the problem might be a fix it ticket and that will go into my name. I don't have the time or patience of having the vehicle repaired on my time. And also, it might cost a lot of money. The officer might ask or check if the signals work or not.

Also, I will be driving at night and people cannot see hand signals.

I think I would refuse to drive the company vehicle as well... I would tell him I would gladly drive it as soon as he gets the lights working but until then forget about it ...
if it was drivng during the daytime you can get away with using hand signals but at night that is a totally different situation , you would be putting yourself at risk and it could end up with you getting into a serious accident and is nothing to joke about.

Tell the boss you're willing to take it in for repair if he will give you a company credit card or purchase/work order number. You'll be on company time so, bring a book, or go shopping, or enjoy a long lunch.

in some areas of traffic, hand signals would result in a broken or lost arm.
