I went into Maidenhead aquatics in at Albans today and saw a 'super red arowana' label ,
Well when I looked at the fish I felt really sorry for it , but the price tag !!!!
Don't get me' wrong , but if your buying a arowana it's to show it and be proud of it ,

Give it

Drop eye
Missing gill covers
Broken jaw
Raised scales
Clamped and torn fins

Would you want to
Pay a 4 figure price for it ??

Judge for yourself

I felt like taking it out of the shops tank myself and walking off with it just to try and give it a better home ,
It's the worst fish I've ever seen in a shop , not just arowana ,
It really looked like someone had put scissors to it , really blunt ones at that ,
But there I was looking at it and there was nothing I could do :-(

Looks like its got a bad case of dropsy and it unfortunately probably wont last long even if treated because it seems too late for that.

Very sad how people can let these beauties get into such horrible shape, and shame on the fish store for still trying to make a profit on a fish thats obviously sick.

Does that store sell very many arows? They should really know better

Thats one sad sight mate, i have heard good things from that shop, maybe it was taken in from a owner that couldnt look after it?

i was in my LFS today and they had 2 RTC about 18inch each and had real bad curled gills, they had taken them from somebody with bad upkkep for them.

But to ask for £1600 for the red aro is ridiculous:irked:
