Would you want to know the success or failure rate with rays of those people who give you advice?
If you knew, would you want to take advice from someone who (as a hypothetical) sold and shipped dead rays and failed to give refunds or couldn't keep a ray alive in their own place?

As an analogy , If you found that your Doctor, who you like a lot, had in fact minimal experience and had in fact been responsible through negligence for multiple deaths would you still use him?
If you found that another Doctor you don't like for personal reasons but has massive experience and has a very good record would that prevent you from listening to that advice?

Would you want to be informed if a writer you thought was well informed on any particular subject was instead a word-for-word plagiarist ?

The answer is all over this section of this forum and is why the best and most experienced hardly post here any more, if at all.

When the blind lead the blind they tend to walk over cliffs.

just a question, are you saying that you are one of the experienced that dont post? if so i have alot of questions for you

What would your point be, David?

I post therefore I am?
:)
PM's may be better as I have opinions that are too strong for a few. Ask away.

Its rhetorical Miguel
:)

If the answer is " yes I would want to know" then perhaps some people shouldn't get so bent out of shape by skeptical posts.
If the answer is " no I don;t want to know" then blissful ignorance will very probably cost $$s
If hypothesis can't stand up to simple criticism then its not a very strong idea. If it can then so much the better.
The source for critical information should also be considered, although even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then.
Read my sig.

The source for critical information should be considered!

No serious minded fishkeeper ( or person if we want to broaden the scope ) should be bent out of shape by skeptical posts.

My question is directed at the point in your thread that seems to point that ( at least to a major extent ) the quality of the advice/discussions herein proffered is of a questinable ( to put it mildly ) nature.

Why?

The problem I see here is that some of the Ray "experts" here have different opinions. And obviously, your egos get the better of you and all the "experts" get annoyed with each other to the point where you don't want to post on the forum anymore. Those of you that have been helpful in the past are so full of yourselves that you can't stand the other's opinion. Like most things...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It's not always black and white. Learn from each other. Don't bash each other just because you guys can't agree on your methods. You all have raised Stingrays with success so you're all doing something right. You all have the "it's my way or the highway" mentality. I don't frequent this section often as I don't own a fw stingray. However, it's important for everyone to respect other people's opinion as well.

dissenting opinions are fine when supported by a little rational
:)
There is always argument in every field, right up the the very top scientists in any given field.
Argument/debate is how consensus and a way forward is found. On the other hand, quitting usually reflects a lack of sound information.
