I always get telemarketer calls except they're in Spanish. The Spanish people don't really know English and when they find out I don't speak Spanish they usually say in broken English that they're sorry and hang up on their own.

let me share a little secret with you all. i used to work as a telemarketer (!!) for outgoing calls (meaning i called you). if you hang up, you are automatically put back on redial.

your number is called by a computer system. the evil telemarketer has a headset on -and their supervisor is usually working the floor and listening in on calls. the telemarketer reads off of a computer screen as to what to say to you.

all you have to do is ask to talk to their supervisor, or tell them to remove you from their call list. they have to do that. if they keep harrassing you talk to the floor supervisor.

if you act like you ride the short bus, and hang up or start babbling the computer system will rotate your number again in a few hours, or in another 24 hours or so and they will just keep calling and calling and calling..

i lasted as a telemarketer for 4 weeks before i just got up in the middle of a shift and walked out. i had advanced to the point where my phonecalls would last up to an hour-we were selling magazines. it was the worst job i ever had. and some of those ppl do that for a career-they have a big gulp cup, toys, and all kinds of trinkets they pull out of a backpack and set it all up at their little cubicle... its depressing.

A couple of my drop-out friends used to do that for a job, easy money but it seems really terrible. I don't think I'd be caught dead doing that and if I was I'd probably just be messing with customers all day.
